AISD COMMUNITY UPDATE – DELAYED START
Anahuac ISD will have a district-wide delayed start tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

All AISD campuses will begin the school day at 10:00 a.m.

AISD buses will run their normal routes approximately two hours later than their regularly scheduled times. Parents and guardians should plan accordingly for morning transportation and arrival.

The delayed start will provide our staff additional time in the morning to prepare Anahuac Primary School for the return of students once water service is restored, including ensuring that restrooms and other essential facilities are fully operational.

We sincerely appreciate the patience, flexibility, and understanding our families, students, and staff have shown as we have navigated this unexpected situation.

Thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and support of Anahuac ISD. Please continue to monitor AISD communications for any additional updates.

Anahuac Primary School Water Outage Update

We would like to provide our families with an update regarding the water outage at Anahuac Primary School.

All Anahuac Primary students have been safely transported to their designated campuses and are settled in for the day. All Primary staff members are with their students and will remain with them throughout the day to ensure they are safe, comfortable, and supported.

TBCD has informed the district that the water outage is expected to last at least four hours. Because of this, Primary students will remain at their designated campuses during the school day.

This afternoon, all Anahuac Primary students will be transported by bus back to Anahuac Primary School for normal dismissal procedures. Parents and guardians should plan for dismissal as they normally would.

We are incredibly thankful for the cooperation of our students, staff, transportation department, and campuses for making this transition as smooth as possible.

As always, the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our first and foremost priority. We appreciate the patience, flexibility, and understanding of our Anahuac ISD families as we navigate this unexpected situation.

AISD WATER OUTAGE UPDATE

Anahuac ISD continues to closely monitor the TBCD water outage. At this time, TBCD has not identified the cause of the outage and is working to determine whether the issue is at the water plant or somewhere along the waterline. We will continue communicating with TBCD and will adjust our plans as soon as additional information becomes available.

Our plan for this morning is as follows:

Primary students will eat breakfast as usual. Beginning at approximately 8:30 a.m., Primary students will be transported by AISD buses to other district campuses that currently have running water:

Life Skills students → Anahuac Elementary
Pre-K & Kindergarten → Anahuac Elementary Gym
1st Grade → Anahuac Middle School Gym
2nd Grade → Anahuac High School Gym

Students will remain supervised by AISD staff throughout this process.

We recognize that this outage is affecting the majority of our community, and many of our families are also without water at home. As long as our other campuses continue to have running water, we believe remaining at school may be the best option for many of our students, rather than sending them home to locations that may also have non-functioning restrooms and no running water.

If the situation has not been resolved by 10:00 a.m. and parents would like to check out their Primary student, they may do so by reporting to the front office of the campus where their child is located. Campus staff will assist with the checkout process.

We understand the inconvenience and concern this unexpected situation may cause our families, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility. The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority.

We will continue to provide updates as we receive additional information from TBCD and will modify our plans accordingly.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of AISD.
